Yes the election has. Before I had no interest in politics. This election really got me into it now. I pay attention to more of what's going on in the world and the U.S. Also I've never been more inspired to vote. I feel this election has changed me in a good way because now I care a lot more for the future of the country.
I think the election has effected everyone in some way. I am glad and excited how the election turned out. It shows how far we have come as a country. I followed the election as much as I could and feel like Obama will really help change our country for the better. It seems like more young people came out to vote and voice their opinion than in the past years.
silverblacknight, I feel the same way you do. I am very interested in the workings of government. Before, I felt it was just a conglomeration of white men who didn't consider any one else's voice.
well i am not so happy with the way the election has turned out.i do not care for some of obamas polices the one which has me most upset is his view on gun control. he wants to incress taxes by 500% on guns and ammo that is crazy.I love to go hunting and just get out in the wood and shoot some now with this if it would pass it would make it hard for me to be able to pay for bullets.I would also never be able to buy any new guns because the price would be so high.I also think when plato said that it is just a conglomeration of white men who dont consider any ones elses vote i think you where way off there. There are all differnt race in congress and they are the ones that can vote down the laws and there are women in cogress to so how can you say it was a group of white men that dont care?
I think i have to agree with usmc#1. The gun control policy is outrageous. Why does he feel the need to raise the taxes by 500%? I would have much rather had McCain in the office because i agree with more of his policies. I also think plato is way off. There are other races in the office, as well as other sexes. So the congress was never a total "conglomeration" of white people.
Way to go, chevykid 10 and usmc# 1! You're reading the other posts. (Just checking.)But, while you are right--women and minorities are represented in Congress, the patriarchy (rule and society governed by men's agendas) has been in place for quite a while now. That kind of mind set can also be perpetrated by women and minorities.
well i got a info card from the NRA which is the National Rifle Association which stated that in his gun control plan he wanted to raise taxs on fire arms and ammo to 500%
i no longer have that info card but i do belive they did have some sources to where they found it at. How i see it though is that its just going to be a matter of time to see what happends with in the next year.
I am also unhappy with how the election turned out. I agreed a lot more with McCain on many different issues. Also, being the gun lover I am, I agree with you usmc#1 and chevykid10. Obama's view on gun control is too outrageous.
yeah, it is time for a change, but obama's tax increase on gun control, i think is outragous. i enjoy hunting and it's just going to make things more complicated. mccain's gun cntrol policy would be better than a 500% increase on the tax to buy ammo and guns.
i didnt follow the election at all and honestly i dont think one person can make choices for millions and that ALL politicians are shady.. so no i didnt really care for the election besides the fact that now that bush wont be president, who will we ever make fun of?!
well i dont totaly agree with what PIHAkid91 said becase i know who i am going to laugh at now even though bush is not the president. But i thought bush was a good PRESIDENT i mean i think all presidents have had there ups and downs but i think bush was pretty good as president over all.

I'm wondering if anyone can provide me with a credible source that outlines this 500 percent tax increase on guns?

Thanks usmc #1. This is great dialogue to introduce persuasive writing. Did the NRA mention where they got this information? I'm really interested.
